"School"

Since taking Grant out of preschool, I've been working with him at home.  Kate didn't want to be left out of the action, so she gets to work while Grant does.

2nd Trip to the Aquarium

We made it back down to the aquarium last week.  It was such a gorgeous day so we got lots of outside play time this trip.
Kate dashing through the play area trying not to get sprayed

Grant spent a good amount of time in here, pretending to be a hermit crab.  Every so often my heart would jump and I'd panic thinking I'd lost him...but he was just hiding in his shell.

Sharing a snack and watching the other kids play

Afterwards, we walked up to the lighthouse for a little fresh air and exercise before the trip home.

Kate enjoyed it a lot more this time, now that she can walk around.  I loved her little feet coming out of her shoes as she stood on her tippy-toes looking at the fish.

The Mall

Both kids love to go play at the mall these days.  It had been a while since we were able to go, so we ended up spending several hours there.  It's great that they are amused by so little.

No trip to the mall is complete without visiting the fishes.  Kate was lying flat looking at them (like she was planking) but as soon as the camera came out she stopped.  Later they found a friend and played in the fountain until security came along and kicked us out.

Oops

This is what happened when I gave Kate a plate of blackberries while I was helping Grant with his handwriting. The berries stained her skin just enough to make it look like she had bruises on her arms all day.  Fantastic.

Huntington Gardens

This was right before Kate could walk on her own, but she was determined to get out of the stroller and try.

This is one of Grants favorite places.  He loves all plants, cacti, and flowers.

Still walking.  Here it's uphill, so Grant took her other hand for extra support.

A Day at the Park

We've been loving having a park across from our house.  In fact, in the top picture you can see our house in this picture (at 1:00 from Grant's head).  Now we have no excuse not to get out and walk to the park!

Kate and Her Daddy

Kate is completely enamored with Nate.  It's really sweet.

Traveling Buddies

I just love looking in the rear view mirror and seeing this...

Two Peas in a Crazy Pod

This is what happens when I try to get the two of them to smile for a picture...

But boy do they have fun together.
