Little Houdini

I walked into Grant's room on Sunday to get him up and this is what I found:

His right arm and shoulder out and his left sock missing.

It's hard to wrangle his little body into those one-piece suits. I'm not sure how he was able to get out...but he was certainly proud of himself.

A Perfect Landing

Adoption Day

Friday we went to court to finalize Grant's adoption. It was a very exciting day in the Prince household.

Grant got all gussied up.

Fortunately we arrived very early. Nobody seemed to know where we were supposed to appear. We finally found the right courtroom and waited.

When we got into the courtroom, there was one other family waiting for their appearance with their 6-month-old son. Grant has recently developed a fear of crying babies so when the baby cried, Grant got really upset. We got him calmed down and he enjoyed looking around with Dad.

After it was over, we got a picture with the Honorable Shari Silver.

Meet the new Prince family! This hearing officially made him part of our family and changed his name to Grant David Prince.

Cousins

We were able to spend some time with Jill, Kegan, and Timmy on Wednesday. Then we got to go to Jared's school to pick him up.
Here they have Grant by the neck, but he doesn't mind.

Kegan took lots of time to show Grant the cool stuff at her house.

Grant's going through a little bit of a nervous stage right now. The noises from the construction at their house made him uncomfortable, but Kegan helped him get over it pretty quickly.

I don't know about you, but I feel much safer with these two around.
Kegan and Jared showed me how they go fishing in their back yard.

Grant conked out almost as soon as he got into his car seat.

Bell Hop

One of Grant's toys came in a container with a red lid. We started putting it on his head because it made him look like a bell hop. Now he thinks it's really funny to put it on our heads.

Shoes??

I finally got shoes on Grant!
Aw, I was so proud.

But unfortunately, the great shoe moment was just that--a moment. Oh, well. Eventually he'll be able to wear shoes.

Sleepy Boy

...a couple of fun pictures of Grant sleeping.

Somehow the pinkie got left out...doesn't look too comfy.

Grant loves his little tiger toy, Thomas. We frequently find him asleep with the tiger on his chest or cuddled up with him. He still looks like he has a rubber band around his wrists.

A Day with Katy

Katy came over today to play while Carter and Elizabeth were at preschool. Grant was so excited to have her over. He LOVES Katy.
She showed him all of the goodies in her backpack.

He came over to flirt with Katy while she had a snack.
Katy had her goldfish while Grant ate his broccoli. Have you ever been this happy eating broccoli? Neither have I...
