Happy Birthday, Grant!

Grant's favorite part of the cupcake was blowing out the candles. We had to re-light them several times so he could keep blowing them out. I think he only ended up eating about 2 bites of cupcake. Good thing I decided not to make a cake.
Diligently reading one of his cards

Lots of vehicles and signs from Gramma Jean. We took a LONG break from gift opening so he could play.

Once he opened his garbage truck from Gramma and Papa Prince, it was all over. He played with it the whole rest of the evening and even 2 hours AFTER we put him in bed. Every 10 seconds or so he would say "green garbage truck." I wonder if he likes it...

Disneyland

We spent Grant's birthday at Disneyland. He's now an official Disneyland Passport holder. He was very pleased with the birthday button they gave him at the front gate. It was such a beautiful day and no lines--a perfect Disneyland day.

Super Mario Brothers

Last night I introduced Grant to the original Super Mario Brothers. Just doing my part to ensure it gets passed on to the next generation. Grant sat and watched for a long time and was faithful to cheer when I got to the end of a level.

"Trees"

While we were preparing dinner the other night, Grant stood up all of the broccoli in a row and called them "trees." Then he shook them vigorously and said that it was the wind. When I came back with the camera, I found him gnawing on one of the trees. Mmmmm...

Little Friends

Emma Perdido came over to play today. Grant liked her right away.

There were lots of these moments, when they would get really close and look each other in the eye.

"So, did you see Barney on Letterman last night?"

Grant loved to hold Emma's cup for her while she sipped. He'd constantly remind her to "open."

Emma would gently touch Grant's face. What a little sweetie!

We received a package last week and Grant claimed all the packing peanuts. He ran to the kitchen and got busy cooking. He loaded the food processor (minus the bowl and blade). I asked what he was making and he said "chicken."

Feeding Time at the Zoo

I opened the pantry this morning and BAM!--I was attacked by a large canister of oatmeal that fell from the top shelf. Grant was super excited about all the commotion and came to check it out. When I returned with a broom, I found that he'd treated himself to a little breakfast. Good thing I cleaned the floor last night!

"School"

We started working with Grant on writing his letters. He's fascinated with school buses, so we asked him if he wanted to do some "school" and of course he did. He's doing a great job and loves it! (My voice sounds really creepy on the videos...try to ignore it.)

It definitely looks like he's a lefty.
